Sleeping Beauty turquoise is a rare and highly sought-after natural turquoise that comes from the now-closed Sleeping Beauty mine in Globe, Arizona. The mine was named after the nearby mountain range, which some say resembles a sleeping woman from a distance. The turquoise was popular with Native American artists, especially those from the Zuni Pueblo, for its consistent color, low cost, and high availability. The mine was the largest producer of American turquoise for decades, but closed in 2012 due to increased government regulations and mining costs. Since then, the price of Sleeping Beauty turquoise has increased significantly, and it's only available in small quantities
