Oolite is also known as the rye stone, oolitic limestone or Margarita stone. The name rye stone comes from the rye bread-like appearance. This stone, which was already used by Hildegard von Bingen, is therefore also called the Hildegard stone. The stone is formed in the Jura Mountains, and consists of round grains of lime. The lime globules are formed in warm, lime-saturated water. Due to the wave movements in the water, the lime is polished on all sides, so that balls are formed. The lime granules are connected to each other by a lime or marrow-like mixture. It is usually yellow, brown or gray in color, and sometimes the granules are colored differently from the connecting mass.

Spiritually, the stone suppresses stress and anger, and relieves hypersensitivity. It stabilizes the emotions and promotes purification and clarity. It helps you communicate calmly, and is a good rock to put under the pillow if you have insomnia at night. The stone helps to connect you with the earth and the beginning, nourishing and feminine aspects of life. It can help for introspection during meditations, and a relaxed approach to life. It can also help balance calcium levels in the body and can be used in disorders of the teeth, bone structure and soft tissues.
