The name Prase is derived from the Greek word "prason" meaning "leek" and refers to the leek-green color of the stone. In ancient times and during the Middle Ages, all „non-precious" green quartz was referred to as Prase. Synonyms are leek quartz, emerald mother, emerald quartz, budstone and African Jade.
In crystal healing Prase is often used when gentleness and composure are to be strengthened. Green Prase conveys patience and serenity and cools down hot tempers when there has been a lot of excitement. Control and self-determination are supported, so that one can gently come back to oneself. Worries and concerns fade into the background. It has a calming effect and helps people that are particularly resentful to reconcile. As a massage stone, Prase is particularly suitable for channeling and relaxing treatments, e.g. in the evening after a strenuous day. Prase is also used to prepare cooling gemstone water.
Size 40 mm approx
